How we use your information
Clane RFC runs Sponsor a Player to raise money for new changing rooms, showers and toilets at the club. This page explains what information we hold, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Players
Each registered player has a page so family and friends can back them. We take the player's name and squad from the club's membership records.
- The page shows the first name, the first letter of the surname and the squad. Nothing else is shown.
- For players under 18, we do not show how many people back them, and their pages are not listed by search engines.
- We use this information because the club has a legitimate interest in raising money for its facilities, and every parent is told about it and can say no at any time.
- Any parent or guardian can ask for their child to be taken off. We remove the child's page and keep a note so they are not added back.
Sponsors
- We hold your name, your email address, the player or squad you back, and a record of each payment.
- Your card details are held by Stripe, our payment provider. The club never sees your full card number.
- We use this to collect the sponsorship you signed up for and to email you a receipt for every payment. That is needed to carry out the agreement you made with us.
- We keep payment records because the law requires a club to keep financial records.
Who else handles it
We use these suppliers to run the site. They handle the information only on our instructions.

We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Player pages: until the end of the season on 30 April, or sooner if a parent asks.
- Sponsor details: while your sponsorship is running, then 12 months after your last payment.
- Payment records: 6 years, as the law requires for financial records.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you or your child, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop us using it. Email clanerugby@gmail.com and we will reply within one month. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
